Meet the Team

It all started in 2013 with a typical January health-kick – a couple of mums on the school run deciding to go for a daily walk once the kids were out of the way. Walking together included lots of chit-chat, the chatting slowly took precedence and was accompanied by coffees rather than walks (well it’s dangerous walking when it’s icy underfoot!)

A year later and the Felltarn Friends Lake District Adventures book was published (I swear there was something in that coffee that spurred us on), and now we have a range of products, a crafting event service and offer a graphic design service too.

Inspired by the Lake District, Felltarn Friends is now a distinctive and award winning Cumbrian success story.

Team details

Amy

Director

Amy Onyango

Amy grew up in Kendal and moved around the UK before returning to Kendal. Her 3 children are enough to keep her busy, however when the idea sprung to mind to set up Felltarn Friends with Claire, it was a no brainer to just go for it! With a background in sales, psychology and a bit of financial ‘stuff’ as well as a love of books, Amy brings quite a collection of skills to the team. She is usually the first port-of-call for enquiries to the business, and has even had a go at the creative side of things with her ‘Done. By Amy’ range of greetings cards (one of which is now an outright bestselling Felltarn Friends card – as she likes to remind everyone. Well, it does feature Gin!)

Claire

Creative Director

Claire Mansfield

Claire has creativity literally oozing from her fingertips! An experienced and talented graphic designer (for more years than I’m allowed to mention), Claire brought herself and her artistic talents over to Cumbria from Johannesburg  – and thank goodness she did! Now a self-declared Lake District Lover, the National Park has been feeding her inspiration and is the driving force behind the Felltarn Friends brand. Pretty much every aspect of Felltarn Friends craft, design, marketing – all the visual and creative stuff, is down to Claire’s expert talent for doing, drawing, making and creating.

Rebecca

Creative Assistant

Rebecca Hodds

Originally from Bedfordshire, Rebecca relocated to Cumbria with her family over 12 years ago. As a fellow creative, Rebecca’s main role at Felltarn Friends is to support Claire in her quest for art, craft and design perfection. She is also a local mum with 2 fabulous boys and is an expert in juggling a multitude of roles from teaching assistant to cosmetics brand ambassador as well as her time brainstorming with Claire.

Shannon Mack

Business Research

Shannon Mack

Shannon is a shareholder in Felltarn Friends and a research genius. She moved from South Africa to England 14 years ago and has made the Cotswolds her home. She helps remotely with our research and development and manages to hold down a full time job! She is an integral to the team and has creative and practical input into the business.
